PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent high speed backing against worker's will while obtaining a high backing thrust. SOLUTION: A gear shift lever 20 in the interlocking relationship with a hydrostatic continuously variable transmission capable of selecting advancing and backing freely is provided, a detent holding the gear shift lever 20 at a plurality of gear shift positions against a gear shift neutral energizing force is provided, the gear shift lever 20 is held at a plurality of positions in a low speed region part RL from a neutral position N to a set speed position in a backing operation region R of the gear shift lever 20 as the detent, and a device allowing the operation of the gear shift lever 20 to a region part RH above the set speed position is provided.
