MOLD CLAMPING DEVICE AND MOLD RELEASE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a mold release force by a motor ball screw mechanism for opening/closing a mold and realize the saving of energy in a mold clamping/ mold release step by making an appropriate combination of a motor and a hydraulic pressure while the energy consumption of the motor ball screw mechanism is whittled down. SOLUTION: This mold clamping device is structured of the motor ball screw mechanism 100 which opens/closes the mold with the help of a fixed platen 14 and a movable platen 18 which are connected together by tie rods 28 and receive the mold to be mounted on the platens and a pressurizing mechanism which presses a piston to at least one of the platens and clamps the mold by introducing the hydraulic pressure into a bag 318 which expands/shrinks hydraulically. In addition, a mold release cylinder mechanism 116 is provided which supports the ball screw member 102 of the motor ball screw mechanism 100 in such a way that it is movable in the axial direction and generates a mold release force by imparting an axial direction force to the ball screw member 102. Further, a braking means 130 is attached to the ball screw member 102 so that the rotation is restricted during the mold release operation.
