PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope capable of cultivating seaweeds and sea algae at a low cost without polluting and the bottom of a sea or a lake. SOLUTION: This cultivating rope, an eelgrass-breeding rope 12 in cultivating eelgrass, comprises a rope 14 composed of a biodegradable material and eelgrass seeds 16 inserted into the rope 14. The biodegradable material is degraded with time and returns to nature such as soil, and straw is used as such biodegradable material and the rope 14 is a straw rope. The eelgrass seeds 16 may be inserted into the rope 14 when the rope 14 is twisted or may be manually inserted into the rope 14 after the rope 14 is completed, so the insertion work can be freely performed.
