PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording element having a short ink drying time and an ink-jet recording element having a high image density. SOLUTION: In the ink-jet recording element including an ink permeable polyester base material including a base polyester layer and an ink permeable upper part polyester layer, the upper part polyester layer has a continuous polyester phase having an ink absorption speed to adjust a drying time within 10 seconds and a total absorbance of at least 14 cm3/m2, and the base material supports a porous image receiving layer having voids connected with each other.
