The invention relates to a method for erecting a building, comprising of providing a number of stackable blocks with an upper surface and a lower surface, which blocks are each provided in the upper surface and the lower surface with corresponding channels and with dowels fitting into the channels, and stacking the blocks with dowels arranged in the corresponding channels of blocks lying one on top of the another, wherein the blocks are provided with channels running from the lower surface to the upper surface and the dowels are substantially tubular, and arranging conduits through successive channels in blocks lying one on top of another and the dowels received therein.
