PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably discharge ink drops which are to be discharged later and stably combine the ink drops in a method wherein three or more ink drops are combined during flying to be one ink drop before landing to a recording medium. SOLUTION: When three ink drops are to be discharged, discharge velocities v1-v3 of the first - the third ink drops to be discharged sequentially are set to satisfy v2<=v2
