PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically control heating by a steam pot by detecting the abnormality of a steam-feeding control valve or a temperature sensor. SOLUTION: In the steam pot, a jacket 2 is provided under an inner pot 1, a steam-feeding piping 5 provided with the steam-feeding control valve 6 in its middle part is connected to the jacket 2 to allow an operation controller 3 to control the valve 6 based on information from temperature sensors 8 detecting temperature in the jacket. The two sensors 8 are provided at the jacket 2 and the controller 3 compares measured values from the two sensors 8 with each other to output the inspection of the temperature sensor when the temperature difference between the measured values is larger than a prescribed temperature difference and to output the abnormality of the valve 6 when the temperature difference between the measured values is smaller than a prescribed temperature difference and the measured value of the temperature in the jacket 2 does not reach a target temperature although a controlling command is outputted to the valve 6.
