PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present the optimum ratio of the illumination sectional area to the light receiving sectional area of an image receiving element of a light guide fiber bundle accommodated in an accommodation enabled space of an insert part of an endoscope. SOLUTION: As essential constitution, the light guide fiber bundle 21 and the image guide fiber bundle 23 are passed through the insert part 11 of the endoscope 10. When the illumination sectional area (sum of the sectional areas of cores of the respective optical fibers) of the light guide fiber bundle 21 and the light receiving sectional area (sum of areas of cores of the respective optical fibers) of the image guide fiber bundle 23 are made equal to each other, a bright image can be obtained most efficiently.
