摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granule conveyance mechanism for an electron beam irradiator solving a problem that when the surface of granules is to be irradiated with electron beams, it is necessary to irradiate the whole surface of the granules; however, in the case of conventional conveyance of such granules, portions of granules corresponding to the shadow of irradiation have not been irradiated with electron beams; in order to irradiate the whole surface of granules with electron beams, the granules need to be rotated under an irradiation unit, but in a conventional turning conveyor, granules cannot be rotated. SOLUTION: This granule conveyance mechanism is such that the conveyance plate of a vibratory conveyor is provided with a perforated step section and a gas is blown off from a duct set up under the step section at the area above the step section; granules are advanced by the vibratory conveyor and rotated by vibration, rotated by tumbling down the steps, and rotated by being blown up by the gas. The granules in vigorous rotation are irradiated with low-energy electron beams.
