PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify various printer states to a user by one piece of a light- emitting diode. SOLUTION: This printer has ink cartridges 61 to 66 for six colors comprising yellow, magenta, cyan, light cyan, light magenta and black. In a case wherein an error of an ink low or an ink end is generated on either one of the ink cartridges 61 to 66, when the user presses a carriage moving switch 32, a carriage 60 is moved to different locations A to F for respective ink cartridges 61 to 66 on which the error is generated. Also, in a case wherein the generated error occurs as the ink remains low, the light emitting diode 30 is made to flicker. In a case wherein the generated error occurs as the ink is ended, the light emitting diode 30 is lit up. Thus, the user can know what kind of error has been generated on which ink cartridge. |
