PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinder capable of removing machining chips attached to abrasive grains during the grinding process without manual operations by the operator, in which there is no risk of increasing the load of a motor to rotate a grinding wheel. SOLUTION: The plane grinder 1 including a grinding wheel 6 rotating for grinding the oversurface of a work W supported movably on a base board 2 is equipped with a fluid jetting nozzle 13 which jets a high pressure fluid to the peripheral surface of the grinding wheel 6 in the same direction as the rotation of the grinding wheel 6 and from an oblique direction. The nozzle 13 jets high pressure fluid to the peripheral surface of the grinding wheel 6 in the same direction as the rotation of the grinding wheel 6 and from an oblique direction. Accordingly the machining chips attached to the abrasive grains of the grinding wheel 6 are blown off by the jetted high pressure fluid, when the fluid will not hinder the grinding wheel 6 from rotating.
