PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operation of a surgical instrument and increase the precision of the operation. SOLUTION: A surgical supporting system 1 has a central processing portion 15 which holds three-dimensional form data and surgical program data of a bone 2, calculating marker position data by detecting a position marker placed in the bone 2 and calculating the sticking position, direction and depth of a steel wire 4 stuck into the bone 2 based on the three-dimensional form data, surgical program data and marker position data and a laser beam generating device 11 which shows visually near a bone 4 to an operator the position and direction of sticking the steel wire 4 in the bone 2 and informs the operator of the sticking depth of the steel wire 4.
