PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eject a liquid by effectively introducing a generated pressure by creation of a bubble by a heating element to an ejection nozzle 7. SOLUTION: A liquid passage wall 12 forming a liquid passage 9 is formed on a substrate 1 having the heating element for creating a bubble formed thereon and the ejection nozzle 7 is formed at the end section of the liquid passage 9. A movable member 11 is formed at the upstream section of the heating element (the opposite side of the ejection nozzle 7) so as to close the liquid passage 9. A narrow section 13 for restricting the displacement of the movable member 11 to the upstream section is formed at the further upstream section thereof. When a bubble is created, the movement of the liquid toward the upstream section is blocked by the movable member 11 so that the liquid can be effectively moved to the ejection nozzle 7 to be ejected therefrom. When the bubble is broken, the movable member 11 is displaced toward the downstream side so that the liquid can be efficiently supplied to the liquid passage 9.
