PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine with a looper, and a looper improving sewing accuracy by suppressing entangling of a thread passing through the stitch hole. SOLUTION: The sewing machine with the looper has a needle bar for mounting a needle for a needle thread and a looper 5 for performing sewing in cooperation with the needle. The looper 5 has a blade tip 9 having a stitch hole 8 for a looper thread 7 and a recessed part 10, to which the side face of a needle 4 can be faced, provided inversely to the top end direction of the blade tip 9. The blade tip 9 of the looper 5 is provided with a step part 21 continuously extended from the stitch hole 8 to the recessed part 10 while having a looper thread supporting plane 0 directed upward. The looper thread supporting plane 20 can support the looper thread 7 passed through the stitch hole 8.
