PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid deodorant composition which is low in the costs of equipment and operation and can effectively decrease malodors, more particularly sulfur-base malodorous component and nitrogen-base malodorous component. SOLUTION: This liquid deodorant composition substantially consists of an aqueous solution which contains at least >=1 kind selected from the group consisting of iron (III) chloride, manganese (II) chloride, cobalt (II) chloride and nickel (II) chloride and contains halide salts of 3d transition metals. The halide salts of the 3d transition metals are not particularly restricted and various kinds thereof are usable in so far as the salts are each ionically dissociable in an aqueous soln. Those having a high ionic dissociation degree (for example, chloride and bromide) are more preferable in the point that an excellent deodorization effect is obtainable. Such halide salts are more preferably strong electrolytes which are completely ionically dissociated in the solution. The 3d transition metals refer to transition metals of 21Sc to 29Cu in which 3d shells are filled and such metals are also known as first transition elemental series.
