PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for centering and fastening a rotary workpiece having a cylindrical end part on the spindle side. SOLUTION: This device is furnished with a case member furnished with a shaft stored in a spindle sleeve and a fastening pot installed in the case member free to rotate around an axis of rotation of the workpiece and having a collet. By this invention, spindle pressure is transmitted to the workpiece in a method where the collet can be closed and fastened by delivery motion of the spindle in the axial direction, the spindle pressure working against closing and fastening of the collet is applied to a center of the workpiece and the workpiece can be moved to the center without accompanying sliding of the collet in the radial direction to generate frictional force.
