PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal-made fishing line that has high specific tensile strength (= tensile strength/specific gravity), can be inexpensively produced and can meet requirements for a variety of fishing lines. SOLUTION: Aβ-titanium alloy thin line is used as a parent material to produce the objective fishing line having a specific strength of 250-400 MPa/(g/ cm3). Since it has a high specific strength, the fishing line according to this invention can save its weight to reduce the resistance in water and smoothly follow the movement of the fish. Moreover, this alloy can be subjected to plastic forming for thinning the line until the total cross section reduction is attained to >=90% whereby the processing cost can be largely reduced in comparison with the conventional metal-made (Ni-Ti made) fishing line.
