PURPOSE: An oxygen generator is provided to reduce a time for required in getting to the set pressure state from the vacuum state during the pressurizing step in the oxygen generator. CONSTITUTION: The oxygen generator comprises an adsorption column(130) in which an adsorbent(Z) is equipped so as to separate and produce oxygen by adsorbing nitrogen from the external air; an air pump(110) which is pipe connected to the adsorption column(130) in a row form, flows the external air to the adsorption column(130) through one side of the piping and flows out the external air of the adsorption column(130) through the other side of the piping; a pressure tank(160) which is installed on one side of the piping connecting the adsorption column(130) to the air pump(110), and in which an external air flown into the adsorption column(130) from the air pump(110) is stored so as to maintain a certain pressure; an inlet side valve(121) which is installed on the other side of the piping connecting the adsorption column(130) to the air pump(110); an outlet side valve(122) which is installed between the air pump(110) and the pressure tank(160); and a switch valve(123) which is installed between the pressure tank(160) and the adsorption column(130).
