Use of an adenosine receptor modulator in medicines for neurodegenerative diseases and nervous system lesions

Use of an adenosine receptor modulator in medicines to control the effects of netrine and/or netrine receptors is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a composition comprising an adenosine receptor agonist; (B) in vitro screening of compounds capable of regulating the function of netrine and/or netrine receptor comprising: (a) incubating netrine and adenosine receptor in the absence of the compound to be tested and determining the affinity between netrine and the adenosine receptor; (b) incubating netrine and adenosine receptor in the presence of the compound to be tested and determining the affinity between netrine and the adenosine receptor; (c) selecting the compounds for which a difference between the affinity measured in (a) and the affinity measured in (b) is observed.
