PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timing detection device that can ensure high detection accuracy and resolution even under an environment where inter-code interference exists. SOLUTION: The timing detector is provided with an oversampling device 3 that samples a received signal at speed of a symbol rate or over, a reception sequence output circuit 4 that distributes a signal after sampling to a single signal sequence or signal sequences different in sampling timing, reliability information generating/timing detection circuits 5-1-7-n that output unique word detection results and a path metric accumulated value being reliability information of the entire data sequence in the unit of each signal sequence, and a timing detection processing circuit 8 that selects any of timing objects as timing of a preceding wave on the basis of the unique word detection result and the path-metric accumulated value. |
