PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for shortening video read time to be reproduced by accelerating video information, so that the possibility of missing an important scene is reduced by easily understandable as viewed by a viewer. SOLUTION: The method for shortening the video read time comprises the steps of first separating a sound and an image by a sound and image-separating means 1. Then, the method also comprises the step of then extracting a part, including a human voice from a sound by a sound recognition means 2. The method also comprises the step of detecting the transfer part of a scene from the image by an image recognition means 3. The method also comprises the steps of then summarizing both of an image part, including the sound extracted in the means 2 by the means 4 and a head part of the image part detected by the means 3, and deciding the image part necessary for reproducing the video part. The method also comprises the step of accelerating a speed, without changing the pitch of the sound by an accelerating means 5. The method finally comprises the steps of synchronizing the accelerated sounds with image parts necessary for reproducing by sounds and image synchronization means 6, reproducing them as video, and outputting the video. |
