A planet pinion cage (22) mounted on a free wheel (101) bears multistage planet pinions (24) with one primary stage (26) meshing with a primary planetary gear (11) linked to an input shaft (4) via a two-ratio automatic gear shifting mechanism (108) and an input clutch (12). The torque is transmitted to the output shaft (6) via one or the other of the three secondary stators (41, 42, 43) depending on the state of the corresponding selective coupling devices (57, 58, 61). The multiplicative variation between two successive ratios defined by the differential gear (21) thus produced is equal to the square of the multiplicative variation between the two ratios in the mechanism (108). Thus, the transmission device defines a six-ratio transmission device with automatic gear shift utilising the axial thrusts of the teeth (PAC, PAS1 and PAS2) as measurement of the torque transmitted and using centrifugal counter-weights (86, 87, 127) to apply control forces constituting a measurement of the rotational speeds. |
