PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that attains print processing even when a local code amount of compressed data exceeds a transfer quantity limit and enhances a throughput at transfer of the compressed data. SOLUTION: The image processor is provided with a compressed data generating means 14 that compresses received image data to generate compressed data, a code quantity detection means 15 that detects a code quantity of the compressed data, a comparison means 15 that compares the detected code quantity with a 1st limit value, an image data rotation means 16 that applies processing of rotating the image data to the image data so that the main scanning direction and the subscanning direction of the image data are replaced with each other and outputs the rotated image data to the compression data generating means 14, and a control means that externally outputs the compressed data when the code quantity of the compressed data does not exceed the 1st limit value as a result of comparison by the comparison means 15 or outputs the image data to the image data rotation means 15 when the code quantity of the compressed data exceeds the 1st limit value.
