PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information managing system which can effectively use a data base where information is stored, and to provide an item generating device, an index data base, an arranging position deciding device, a retrieving device, a screen display device, a device and a method for managing information and a recording medium with information management program recorded thereon. SOLUTION: The system is provided with the item generating device 101 generating at least one or above items for identifying information based on inputted information, an index DB 102 where the item outputted from the item generating device 101 is stored, an ALL DB 104 where inputted information is stored and a DB controller 103 retrieving the index DB 102 based on the inputted item and detecting information stored in the ALLDB based on the retrieval result of the index DB.
