PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily calculate a channel-to-channel distance, even if weighting operation by the shape of a transducer or a window function is conducted. SOLUTION: On the basis of data regarding an area weight and an electric weight which are input from an input part 7, a computing and processing part 6 calculates an inter-channel distance L. On the basis of the calculated distance L, angle of arrivalθof acoustic waves is found, directional characteristics are corrected, and a precise reflection intensity TS is obtained. According to the apparatus, the distance L can be calculated automatically and easily for any shape and any function.
