PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having high activity in heat development, excellent also in image preservability and having high sensitivity and rapid developability. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material with photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder on one face of the base, the reducing agent is a compound of formula (I) [where R11 and R11' are each an alkyl; R12, R12', X11 and X11' are each a group substitutable on a benzene ring or the like; L is -CHR13- or the like and R13 is an alkyl or the like] and the photosensitive material further has an aromatic carboxylic acid of formula (A) [where R1-R5 are each a group substitutable on the benzene ring or the like and at least one of R1-R5 is a non-dissociable substituent bonding to the benzene ring through carbon atom or the like] and a hydrogen bond forming compound on the same face on which the photosensitive silver halide is present.
