PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coding method of acoustic signals, through which original acoustic signals are more faithfully reproduced, for a performance in which sound intervals are continuously changed. SOLUTION: Unit segments are set for time series acoustic signals, and code data consististing of sound interval information, sound strength information, sounding start time and sounding completion time are generated by conducting a signal analysis and a frequency selection for every unit segment. The transition patterns of the sound interval information are beforehand divided into three types, i.e., a smooth type that does not vary too much, a going-up type that smoothly goes up and a going-down type that smoothly goes down and an integration is conducted in accordance with the pattern to which unit code data generated for every unit segment belong. In the cases of the going-up and the going-down types, control information is added to indicate the fact that sound intervals are smoothly varied. |
