摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comparatively inexpensive glow starter the synthetic resin component of which is easily molded, and the discharge delay time of which is short even when it is left in a dark place for a long time, in spite of a low rate of long persistence phosphor kneaded in. SOLUTION: A pair of electrodes are sealed in the inside of a discharge vessel 1. Long persistence phosphor of 0.01 percent by mass or above, and below 5 percent by mass is kneaded in the synthetic resin of a case C, which houses a glow starter body GS in which discharge medium is sealed; and the infrared ray transmittance of the synthetic resin is 5% or more. If the average grain size of the long persistence phosphor is 40μm or less or the maximum grain size is 100μm or less, formability is improved more. Furthermore, by adding polymer flame retarder to the synthetic resin of the case the infrared ray transmittance can be 30% or more.
