The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for wrapping an object, such as a straw fodder bale, with plastic. In the method, the bale is taken into the wrapping apparatus by means of upright arms ö(8) by pressing the bale between press plates (12). The bale is brought to an appropriate height relative to the plastic rolls (17) and, in a first step, by revolving the plastic rolls about the bale with the plastic film in a vertical plane, the ends, two of the long sides, the corners and partially the other two long sides of the bale are covered with plastic. in a second step, the bale is rotated by its ends about its longitudinal axis between the press plates (12) and the long sides of the bale are wrapped with plastic while the plastic film is held in a horizontal plane. |
