PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical slide device quickly and safely sliding down a movable strut timbering and a permanent girder by a relatively simple device and to provide a jack device quickly sliding down the movable timbering and introducing preload thereto by a relatively simple device, in a slide type earth retaining timbering system, by an underground skeleton permanent girder and a movable strut timbering. SOLUTION: This vertical slide device 4 is constituted of an elevating device 60 fitted to the permanent girder 2 on a first floor and a clamp device 61 detachably connected to the movable strut timbering 1 or the movable permanent girder 3, the strut 10 and a connecting member 81 are clamped by a shuck 70 formed of a pair of arms 70a, the movable permanent girder 3 is stacked on a horizontal fitting member 72, and the strut timbering 1 and the permanent girder 3 are alternately slid down. This jack device 6 is so constituted as serially connecting a stroke jack 20 pushing and pulling a wale, to a preload jack 21 introducing the preload to an earth retaining wall.
