PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital television by constituting PL data of service information to be additionally transmitted to a digital broadcasting signal, in addition to reproduced and displayed A/V data, recording on a recording medium so that the A/V data and navigation data are distinguished, reading solely the PL data or together with the A/V data at the A/V data reproducing time, and to make the digital television analyze and operate by PL data exchange. SOLUTION: A method for providing additional service information of A/V contents through a recording medium comprises the steps of recording presentation language data of the additional service information to be transmitted by including in the digital broadcasting signal, reading of the language data together at audio/video data reproduction time, transmitting the data by making them distinguished and transmitting to coupled external equipment. Thus, various video information and its function provided via the medium are utilized through the digital television utilizing the language (PD) data.
