PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element, having higher luminous efficiency than the conventional ones by enhancing the light-extraction efficiency, and to provide a backlight and of a frontlight for a liquid crystal display of a field sequential driving, by using the organic EL element. SOLUTION: Attention is paid to a guided wave light, emitted from the organic EL element. By using the guided wave light, it becomes possible to produce the organic high EL element, having higher luminous efficiency from the conventional ones. By applying such organic EL element, the backlight and the frontlight that are bright and have low power consumption can be produced. |
