PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that satisfactory image quality can not be obtained caused by deteriorated tape touching between a magnetic head and a magnetic tape to bring about an enveloping drop and generating a noise bar during rewinding and reproducing in a magnetic head of a combined type in which two magnetic heads are bonded to a head base. SOLUTION: The ratio (k) of the lengths B and C of the second core half bodies 5 and 9 of a magnetic head core and a length A between gaps are defined within a specified ratio, and thus tape touching between the magnetic head and a magnetic tape during rewinding and reproducing is improved. Therefore, a high-performance magnetic head having good enveloping and preventing any deterioration of image quality is obtained.
