PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the magnetic recording/reproducing technology capable of making the floating gap of a composite magnetic head narrower with respect to a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording/reproducing device is made to have low rigidity by means of connecting the part between the MR combined magnetic heads 34 consisting of recording induction type head 37 and reproducing MR heads 38, and a recording/reproducing circuit 33 by transmission lines 35 consisting of two lead wires L1 and L2 which are provided in common by the recording induction type head 37 and the reproducing MR heads 38, and this device is constituted so that the connection state to both of the parts is changed over by switch control circuits 39 and switch parts 40 provided on the MR combined heads 34, and also resistance change detecting circuits 30 for the MR combined head 34 are arranged on the MR combined heads 34, then both of a recording signal and reproducing signal are transmitted by being superimposed with the change of the current so that the switch control circuit 39 is operated with the change of the potential difference between two lead wires L1 and L2.
