PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a gas sensor capable of easily improving stress-corrosion cracking resistance in a first metal cover so as to improve durability of the gas sensor as a whole. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for the gas sensor 1 provided with a detection element 10 having a gas contact part 11, a housing 4 holding the detection element 10, protective covers 21 and 22 covering the gas contact part 11, leading terminals 71 and 72 electrically conducted with the detection element 10, lead wires 81 and 91 for electrical conduction with the leading terminals 71 and 72, an electrically insulative insulating member 5, and the first metal cover 31 housing the leading terminals 71 and 72 and the lead wires 81 and 91, shot blasting is applied to the surface of the first metal cover 31 after its molding. |
