<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission apparatus whose synchronization function is in compliance with the ITU-T G.781 recommendations by utilizing functions of a conventional transmitter. SOLUTION: The transmission apparatus is provided with an SSM(Synchronization Status Message) extract section that extracts an SSM denoting a synchronization status of a signal from spare bits of an external input signal whose transmission rate is 2 Mbps and with a first selection section that selects the SSM from the SSM extract section or the SSM set from a control microcomputer so tat an incoming SSM function can be added to an assumed SSM function as an external 2 Mbps SSM function.</p> |
