PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a safety device. SOLUTION: This safety device is provided with a power closing mechanism for rotating a latch 6 from a half latch position to a full latch position by motive power of a motor 10, a ratchet 7 for engaging with the latch 6 and a ratchet lever 32 for separating the ratchet 7 from engagement with the latch 6. The power closing mechanism is provided with a pressing link 20 for rotating the latch 6 to the full latch position from the half latch position by abutting to and engaging with the latch 6. A vicinity position of the ratchet lever 32 is provided with an open lever 37 for operating the ratchet lever 32 and separating the pressing link 20 from engagement with the latch 6.
