PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make developing failure hardly generated and to prevent detection of toner end in spite of more than necessary residue toner even when a developing device is inclined in a longitudinal direction of a developing roll. SOLUTION: In the device, a toner sensor 21 is provided in an approximate center part of a case 11 in regard to the longitudinal direction of a developing roll 12. Furthermore, in regard to the direction of the height of the case, it is provided in a position where toner detection is not carried out when the residue quantity of the toner inside the case becomes the quantity that is approximately half the maximum quantity of toner that can be stored in the case. |
