PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can be applied to a plurality of kinds of optical disks, and is easily manufactured, and of which the cost reduction is easily realized. SOLUTION: An optical path adjustment element 6 having reflective films 13 and 14 for selectively reflecting light beams L1 and L2 having different wavelengths is placed on the upstream side of the optical path of a light receiving element 7. The return light beam of the light beams L1 and L2 made incident obliquely through different optical paths toward the optical path adjustment element 6 is selectively reflected on the reflective films 13 and 14 according to the wavelength, and thereby, the optical paths of the return light beams of the light beams L1 and L2 which go to the light receiving element 7 from the optical path adjustment element 6 are unified to a path R. Besides, as another means for solving the problem, a pair of optical elements 25 and 26 with a shape of a prism are oppositely placed across a transmission layer 27 and are made into an optical branching element 9 having an optical path regulating function, and then the optical paths of the light beams L1 and L2 emitted from the optical branching element 9 are unified by reflecting two kinds of light beams L1 and L2 having different wavelengths and made incident on the optical branching element 9 on the reflective and transmissive films 23 and 24 provided on the opposite surfaces of respective optical elements 25 and 26. |
