PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic solution for a lithium sulfur battery superior in volumetric characteristic and life time characteristic, and provide a lithium sulfur battery containing this. SOLUTION: Elemental sulfur 60%, super P conducting agent 20% and polyvinyl acetate 20% are mixed in an acetonitrile solvent, and this slurry is coated and vacuum dried on Al electrical current collector coated by carbon. Aliquot of trifluorotoluene/propylene carbonate/dimethyl carbonate (20/40/40) electrolyte solution with LiSO3CF3 of 1M concentration is dropped on a positive electrode plate, and after a separator has been placed on it and slightly more electrolytic solution is added, and then a lithium electrode is put on it. As in the above example, the electrolytic solution is used containing 5 to 30 wt.% of the solvent, whose solubility to sulfur is not less than 20 mM, 20 to 70 wt.% of a solvent whose solubility to sulfur is not more than 20 mM and 20 to 70 wt.% of a solvent, which has a high dielectric constant and a high viscosity, and containing an electrolytic salt. |
