PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a higher manufacturing yield. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal injection port sealing structure for sealing a liquid crystal injection port 12 which communicates with a liquid crystal cell 10, enclosing a liquid crystal composition interposed between a pair of substrates G1 and G2 is provided with a plurality of columnar spacers 11 formed, so as to protrude from the substrate G1 and support the substrate G2 for the purpose of securing a liquid crystal injection space between the substrates G1 and G2; and an injection port sealing material 13 with which the liquid crystal injection port 12 is filled, so that the injection port sealing material 13 comes in contact with the liquid crystal composition in a boundary position previously set in the depth direction of the liquid crystal injection port 12. In particular, the columnar spacers 11 are disposed apart from the boundary position, so that the spacers do not affect the filling of the injection port sealing material 13.
