PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device in which a display part is made thin, in spite of its being a large screen display device. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a cabinet 2, provided with the window of a specified shape at a ceiling surface 2a; a screen 4 at which a display surface 4a is erected to the side of an observer at the ceiling surface 2a of the cabinet 2 and an oblique projection optical system 10 provided at the inside of the cabinet 2; video light projected by the oblique projection optical system 10 is enlarged and displayed by projecting from an oblique lower side through a window 3 on the screen 4.
