METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING LOADING QUANTITY OF BELT CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more rapidly and simply measure the cumulative loading quantity of the feed articles on a belt conveyor. SOLUTION: The method for measuring the loading quantity of the belt conveyor inludes a feed article measuring process for successively measuring the distance between the origin provided above the belt conveyor and the surface of the feed article at every predetermined angle by laser beam passing through the origin; a cross-sectional calculation process for calculating the area on the basis of the measured angle and distance to calculate the cross-sectional area above the belt conveyor 11 loaded with the feed article and substracting the cross-sectional area above belt conveyor 11 loaded with the feed article from the preliminarily calculated cross-sectional area above the unloaded belt conveyor to calculate the cross-sectional area of the feed article; and a belt moving distance detection process and a loading quantity calculation process for multiplying the cross-sectional area of the feed article by the moving distance of the belt conveyor to calculate the volume of the feed article to cumulate the same, and multiplying the volume of the feed article by the unit volume weight of the feed article to calculate the weight of the feed article.
