PURPOSE: A method for controlling a data providing service using an Internet phone is provided to optimize the use of the Internet phone by simultaneously simply using a news or local information using the Internet phone when using the Internet phone. CONSTITUTION: A WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) is combined with an Internet phone with a general telephone shape for providing a systematic menu composition. If a menu button is pushed in an initial window mode state of a menu composition unit, a service menu is displayed. After a sub-menu is loaded on the window, and the Internet connects according to the selection of the menu. After a telephone alarm message is displayed on the window when the telephone is called, it is converted into a service window mode. A service is performed according to a menu selected by a button.
