MODIFICATION OF PLANT ARCHITECTURE

摘要

Plant cell cycle genes can be used as genetic tools to isolate transcriptionally active chromosomal regions such as promoters and enhancers. Insertion of a dominant negative or dominant positive cell cycle controlling gene or other DNA, which may be either promotorless or coupled to a weak or minimal promoter, in a suitable orientation into such a chromosomal region could result in a change in plant architecture as a result of a modulation of the cell cycle or cell division in target tissues or cells.
