<p>An electric wave absorber comprising a non-flammable or flame-retardant porous article and, formed in pores thereof, electrically conductive carbon; and a method for preparing the wave absorber which comprises imparting a catalytic function to pores of a non-flammable or flame-retardant porous article by allowing the pores to carry a catalyst containing a metal such as nickel or cobalt or by preparing a non-flammable or flame-retardant porous article containing such a metal, and contacting the porous article with a hydrocarbon, to form a conductive carbon in pores inside the porous article. The method permits the preparation of an electric wave absorber having conductive carbon being homogeneously distributed therein.</p> |
