PURPOSE: A system data changing method for a washing machine is provided to optimize programs by changing or substituting preset programs through the exchange of data on use or malfunction with an external device such as a personal computer, thereby maximizing the performance efficiency of the washing machine. CONSTITUTION: A method for changing system data of a washing machine includes the steps of reading programs relating to data communication and input/output from a first sector of a memory, copying all data of a second sector to a third sector having no data and deleting the data of the second sector if a data to change belongs to the second sector, down-loading data for the change from an interface part, writing the down-loaded data to the second sector and copying all the data except the data for which the change is made from the third sector if the down-loading is carried out normally, carrying out the data download again if the user selects re-download of the data(S41-S46), recovering all the data of the third sector to the second sector if the user selects data recovery(S44,S50), and displaying a program version changed by the download(S48). |
