The container (1) for one or more flower bulbs or similar is principally of biologically degradable material and wholly encloses the bulb(s). It comprises first (2) and second (3) components connected to each other by closure devices (5,6). In the closed state, the components form a closed space, in which in a predetermined position one or more flow bulbs are accommodated. The first and second components, at least in part, are formed following the contour of the bulbs. The first component on one side is hinge-connected to one side of the second component. The closure devices consist of at least one sprung lip (4) connected to the components.
