A process for the treatment of a fiber-cement plate (I) comprises application of a liquid agent (II) onto at least one face of the plate (I) to impregnate the plate against the ingress of moisture. Independent claims are included for (i) the liquid agent (II) comprising an aqueous mixture containing 5-20% polyacrylate resin. (ii) the treated fiber-cement plate (I).
