ELECTRIC WATER HEATERS

A water heater for use in a beverage maker comprises a moulded body (4) having a water inlet (12) and outlet (14) and with a thick film heater (8) closing one face of the body (4). The heater (8) comprises a plurality of tracks (34, 36, 38) which are connectable together in different configurations to give a desired heating power. This is effected by a rotary control member (120) mounted to one side of the body (4) which lifts leaf springs (60, 62, 64) on and off heater terminal pads (40, 48, 50). A removable plug (10) closes an aperture which allows scale to be removed from the heater.
